Most Expensive Celebrity Engagement Rings

Most Expensive Celebrity Engagement Rings

Celebrities are role models for jewelry, including exquisite and expensive engagement rings. People around the world look to A-list movie stars, pop music stars, and socialites for fashion tips and ideas. A celebrity engagement is big news. The magnificent diamonds and gemstones a celebrity shows off are inspiring and jaw-dropping, while reminding us of engagement rings most of us can never afford.

Here are some of the most expensive celebrity engagement rings:

Mariah Carey - $10 million

Featuring a 35-carat diamond, flanked by two smaller diamonds, this is one of the most expensive engagement rings ever made. With Mariah Carey, there are no subtleties, from her lavish style to her five-octave vocal range. She received the ring in 2016 but reportedly sold the ring two years later after breaking off her engagement, for a mere $2.1 million.

Kim Kardashian - $8 million

The 15-carat diamond received from Kanye West was valued at close to $8 million. It contains a massive stone mounted on a delicate diamond-studded band. Kardashian continues to sport the giant ring on a daily basis. The ring was stolen during a 2016 Paris robbery, but she later had an exact replica created.

Beyoncé - $5 million

The engagement ring has a 24-carat diamond sitting on a double band. It is an extremely elaborate design for someone who is modest-natured, but who often has the perception of being flamboyant. By comparison, Jennifer Lopez’s $1.2 million, 4.5-carat pink diamond engagement ring (from Ben Affleck) isn’t so expensive, unless you combine it with the $4.1 million, 8.5-carat rock from ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Katie Holmes - $1.5 million

For their engagement, Tom Cruise gave Katie a 5-carat oval diamond ring. The stone was surrounded by smaller diamonds equaling an impressive 6 carats.

Angelina Jolie - $500,000

The 16-carat diamond was given to Angelina by Brad Pitt. It’s not the most expensive ring, but it does prove that large doesn’t always equal top price. Angelina Jolie is known for wearing large emerald jewelry, just about as much as she’s known for prioritizing humanity, family, and health.

Other celebrities are known for their expensive engagement rings as well. An engagement ring given to Blake Lively by Ryan Reynolds was a modest 12-carats for $2.5 million, the same price of an 11-carat pear-shaped pink diamond (flanked by two colorless diamonds) given to Anna Kournikova.

Certainly, the celebrities on this list, and other stars you know well, wear engagement rings that are a bit larger than the standard ring. Their statements they intend to make perhaps go beyond what an ordinary partner would use an engagement ring for, which is to express their love for another. But bigger isn’t always better, anyway. A smaller, simpler ring can have a huge impact especially if it is timeless.
