Fordite, also known as Detroit Agate or Motor City Agate, is created from hundreds of layers of automotive paint that accumulated inside automobile factories during decades of production. Despite its name, Fordite was created at factories operated by several automobile manufacturers and is not exclusive to the Ford Motor Company.

Over time, hundreds of individually baked paint layers formed a dense, colorful material that could be cut and polished. The colors revealed in each section depend on the sequence of vehicles painted as the material developed.

Every section reveals its own arrangement of historic Corvette colors, ensuring that no two finished pieces will ever be exactly alike.
