Do you specialize in a particular area? If so, please tell us about your specialty.

Finding solutions for the most challenging projects. Every piece of jewelry that comes in and out of the studio is personally inspected by me. As a custom goldsmith, I specialize in hand-carving wax models for custom work, advanced stone settings, and intricate details. I am also a hand engraver.

How did you get started in the jewelry industry?

I started making jewelry as a teenager, taking Jewelry Arts in high school. After graduating, I went on to attend a resident course in Jewelry Manufacturing Arts at the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, CA. (The G.I.A. campus and headquarters moved from Santa Monica to Carlsbad, CA in 1997)

What do you love most about working in the jewelry industry?

The ability to and feeling of creating something sentimental that can be treasured for a lifetime. From restoring a piece that belonged to Grandma to creating something that begins a new chapter in life. Every piece tells a story.

Tell us a fun fact about you or Jeweler's Touch.

Way back in the 80's, Ken and I bumped elbows in the halls of GIA. This was years before we started working together.
